Football Game Preview: Lansingburgh Knights vs. Glens Falls Black Bears

The Lansingburgh Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Glens Falls Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Glens Falls will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Lansingburgh extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Knights never let Ichabod Crane get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory.

Lansingburgh found their leader in sophomore Salah Thompson, who picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. Anari Fredericks's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 105 rushing yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lansingburgh's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Thompson, Sania Fredericks, and Vincent Faulkner, who each picked up one sack apiece. Lansingburgh got some further help from Thompson: he picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Glens Falls took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-14 win over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Glens Falls' victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Lansingburgh, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Lansingburgh took a serious blow against Glens Falls in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 49-7. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
