Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bayard Rustin

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bayard Rustin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against the Henderson Warriors by a score of 10-6. That's two games straight that the Golden Knights have won by exactly four runs.

Ashley Falcone spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Joslyn Garner was a standout: she scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jenna Kraft, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

Bayard Rustin hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Henderson struck out nine times.

The win (which was Bayard Rustin's third in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Henderson, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Bayard Rustin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-3 win against Coatesville on the 14th. As for Henderson, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Unionville on the 14th.
