Football Recap: Burroughs Burros vs. Hesperia Scorpions
Burroughs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 37-3 defeat at the hands of the Hesperia Scorpions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Burros of the 44-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Zamar Malveaux was his usual excellent self, rushing for 136 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries for Hesperia. Da'Lon Williams was another key rusher, rushing for 109 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Burroughs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Hesperia, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Burroughs will head out to challenge Apple Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Apple Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 27.1 points per game this season. As for Hesperia, they will face off against Serrano at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Malveaux and Trevor Mcsween.
