Basketball Recap: Springfield Wildcats vs. Beavercreek Beavers
After flying high against Hilliard Bradley last Tuesday, Springfield came back down to earth. The Springfield Wildcats fell to the Beavercreek Beavers 60-55. The Wildcats lost against the Beavers in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 76-36 score last time.

Springfield lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dayveona Boynton, who went 7 for 14 on her way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Boynton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Crockran, who posted ten points along with five assists and four steals.
Springfield now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Beavercreek, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.
Springfield and Beavercreek should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Springfield (ranked 124th) will meet Trotwood-Madison (ranked 506th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Beavercreek (ranked 190th) will meet Miamisburg (ranked 415th) at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
