Volleyball Recap: Whitney Wildcats vs. St. Francis Troubadours
After flying high against Davis Sr. last Wednesday, Whitney came back down to earth. The Whitney Wildcats lost 3-0 to the St. Francis Troubadours on Monday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Troubadours recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
While Whitney was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14, 25-10.
Despite the loss, Whitney had strong showings from Kailani Lendahl, who had 12 digs, and Kapri Orteza, who had seven digs. Lendahl is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
St. Francis can attribute much of their success to Sydney Chow, who had four aces and three digs. Those four aces gave Chow a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Fat, who had ten digs.
Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 13-19. As for St. Francis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-10.
Whitney will face off against Folsom at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Folsom will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Whitney surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Francis, they will challenge Del Oro at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
