Basketball Recap: Marian Central Catholic Comes Up Short

After flying high against Christian Life on Tuesday, Marian Central Catholic came back down to earth. The Hurricanes were beaten by the Cary-Grove Trojans 56-24 on Saturday. The Hurricanes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Marian Central Catholic had strong showings from Connor Brandt, who posted eight points, and Aaden Brandt, who earned. Another player making a difference was Colin Kowalsky, who scored four points.

Marian Central Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Cary-Grove, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Marian Central Catholic will challenge Wheaton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Hurricanes' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Cary-Grove, they will be playing at home against Dundee-Crown at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
