Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Emery). They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the Delta Rabbits on Tuesday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Rabbits recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Allison Jeffs made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Elli Stoker was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Kali Jensen was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Emery kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delta only managed two hits.
Emery's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Delta, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
Looking ahead, Emery will host Carbon at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans are facing the Dinos at the right time seeing as the Dinos are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Delta, they will head out to face off against Richfield at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rabbits' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
