Pisgah will square off against Douglas at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Douglas will be up against a hot Pisgah team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand Cedar Bluff a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Caleb Jenkins and Jackson Smalley did most of the damage at the plate: Jenkins went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Smalley went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Smalley is becoming a predictor of Pisgah's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Davis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Douglas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against Crossville on Monday as they made off with a 16-0 win. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Douglas got a massive performance out of Baker Lyles, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that Lyles has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Bentley Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Douglas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Pisgah back to even at 9-9. As for Douglas, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 16-11.
Pisgah came out on top in a nail-biter against Douglas in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, sneaking past 8-7. Does Pisgah have another victory up their sleeve, or will Douglas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
