Basketball Recap: Alhambra Bulldogs vs. Washington Eagles

Alhambra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Washington Eagles. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Alhambra lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaimison Krause, who went 5 for 7 en route to 11 points and six rebounds. What's more, Krause also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Samuel Gillaspy, who posted 13 points.

Alhambra's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Washington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Alhambra will face off against Acalanes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Acalanes knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Alhambra likes a good challenge. Washington has already played their next game, a 54-41 loss against Willow Glen on the 20th.
