Basketball Game Preview: Pensacola Tigers vs. Fort Walton Beach Vikings

The Pensacola Tigers will take on the Fort Walton Beach Vikings on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pensacola is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They strolled past West Florida with points to spare, taking the game 54-36.

Meanwhile, Fort Walton Beach entered their tilt with Bay on Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tornadoes 62-32. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fort Walton Beach found their leader in sophomore SaRuan Newton, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abria Jackson, who scored ten points.

Pensacola's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Fort Walton Beach, they are also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Pensacola lost to Fort Walton Beach on the road by a decisive 45-31 margin in their previous meeting last Monday. Can Pensacola avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
