Softball Recap: Breckenridge Comes Up Short

The Breckenridge Cowboys didn't have quite enough to beat the Wheaton Warriors on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marley Mumm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Breckenridge's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Wheaton, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.

Coming up, Breckenridge will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Frazee at 4:00 p.m. As for Wheaton, they will host Lake Park-Audubon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
