Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Academy Eagles vs. Medomak Valley Panthers

Lincoln Academy is 0-10 against Medomak Valley since May of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Lincoln Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Medomak Valley will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Lincoln Academy turned things around against Erskine Academy on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Erskine Academy 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Lincoln Academy has posted since May 29, 2024.

O Ball spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Lincoln Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was B Coffin, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Coffin has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Medomak Valley duked it out with Gardiner on Wednesday. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-1. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lincoln Academy's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Medomak Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 8-2.

Lincoln Academy came up short against Medomak Valley in their previous meeting back in April, falling 3-0. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
