Cherry Creek had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Saturday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Mullen Mustangs. The Bruins have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Max Goldberg looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Mason Scott was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Tyce Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Cherry Creek pushed their record up to 12-4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Mullen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Mullen will head out to take on Smoky Hill at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Buffaloes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.29 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of. Cherry Creek will be paying especially close attention to Mullen's contest: after Mullen faces off against Smoky Hill, they'll take on Cherry Creek again at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
