Basketball Recap: El Camino Takes a Loss + How To Watch

El Camino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 51-43 to the Foothill Mustangs. The Eagles lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-25 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why El Camino lost, don't look at Jean-Claude (JC) Tshiunza. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-13 to rack up 19 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Turner, who posted five points.

Foothill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tomari Harris led the charge by putting up 23 points and three steals. Harris is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Ricky Echols, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks.

El Camino's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Foothill, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, El Camino will challenge Lathrop at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Foothill, they will face off against East Union at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
