It was a good run, but Newport unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Tuckerman Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Greyhounds couldn't push the score so high this time.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Tuckerman, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.

Looking ahead, Newport will head out to challenge White County Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tuckerman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mammoth Spring at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
