The North Fremont Huskies will take on the Challis Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Challis took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on North Fremont, who comes in off a win.
North Fremont took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over West Jefferson. The Huskies not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 19-6).
Benny Torres and Hunter Hogle were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Torres tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hogle didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Torres got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs, while Hogle went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Torres is becoming a predictor of North Fremont's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 3-8-1 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Saul Labra was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reuger Lenz, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
North Fremont always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Challis' offense. They lost 9-0 to Firth on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Vikings have let down their home crowd.
North Fremont's win bumped their record up to 6-8-1. As for Challis, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-6-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Fremont has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. However, it's not like Challis struggles in that department as they've averaged .470. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
