Basketball Game Preview: Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers vs. Lewis Cass Kings

The Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers will head out on the road to take on the Lewis Cass Kings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Fort Wayne Canterbury is headed into the match having just suffered their closest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Prairie Heights by a score of 49-46.

Despite their loss, Fort Wayne Canterbury saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aran Padmalingam, who went 7 for 14 to rack up 19 points and five boards, was perhaps the best of all. Those 19 points gave Padmalingam a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reed Hayes, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Fort Wayne Canterbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Lewis Cass got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They skirted past Wabash 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Kings have posted since March 1, 2024.

Fort Wayne Canterbury better focus on containing Brennan Deeter and Brody Hillis as the pair were huge in Lewis Cass' win. Deeter went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points and three steals, while Hillis went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points.

Lewis Cass picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-14. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
