Basketball Recap: Yosemite Comes Up Short

Yosemite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 57-35 to the Fowler Redcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Badgers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-23 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Yosemite saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Fallon Vaughn dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards. Vaughn also set a new season-high mark in blocks with five. Another player making a difference was Lucas McGoldrick, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Yosemite's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Fowler, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-8.

Yosemite has already played their next match, a 79-52 loss against Sierra on the 21st. As for Fowler, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-70 defeat against Fresno Christian on the 21st.
