Basketball Recap: Mountain Island Charter Takes a Loss

Mountain Island Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 105-66 defeat at the hands of the Lincoln Charter Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Raptors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Eagles are ranked 114th).

It was another big night for David Reed IV, who posted 32 points for Lincoln Charter. The contest was Reed IV's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sylas Coleman, who scored 23 points.

Mountain Island Charter now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lincoln Charter, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

When Mountain Island Charter and Lincoln Charter next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Mountain Island Charter will try to stop Community School of Davidson's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lincoln Charter will square off against Corvian Community and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
