Basketball Game Preview: LaVille Lancers vs. Washington Township Senators

The LaVille Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Washington Township Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

LaVille saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bremen. The Lancers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Washington Township suffered their closest defeat since January 20, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Westville by a score of 52-50. While losing is never fun, the Senators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Blackhawks are ranked 73rd).

LaVille will need focus on slowing down Brooklyn Campbell, one of several Washington Township players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points in addition to 14 boards and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Gracie Little, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 15 points.

Washington Township's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9. As for LaVille, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

LaVille was able to grind out a solid win over Washington Township in their previous meeting back in November of 2018, winning 59-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for LaVille since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
