Basketball Game Preview: Cedar Park Timberwolves vs. Lake Travis Cavaliers

The Cedar Park Timberwolves and the Lake Travis Cavaliers will compete for holiday cheer at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Cedar Park will bounce into Monday's game after beating Leander, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Timberwolves snuck past the Lions with a 37-31 victory on Friday. Those 37 points were actually the fewest the Timberwolves have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Lake Travis strolled past Del Valle with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 66-51. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cavaliers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Cardinals are ranked 690th).

Cedar Park's win bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Lake Travis, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.

Cedar Park took a serious blow against Lake Travis in their previous matchup back in November of 2020, falling 60-32. Can the Timberwolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
