Basketball Game Preview: Dutchtown Bulldogs vs. Luella Lions

The Dutchtown Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Luella Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

On Saturday, Dutchtown was beaten by Langston Hughes 77-28. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, Luella came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Raiders to the tune of 88-17. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 22 points or more this season.

Luella pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points per game. As for Dutchtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Dutchtown ended up a good deal behind Luella in their previous matchup back in November of 2018, losing 56-42. Can Dutchtown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
