The Juanita Ravens will head out on the road to challenge the Mercer Island Islanders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Juanita's win against Bellevue wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Juanita narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bellevue 6-5.
Juanita got a great performance from Luke Garrett as he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Juanita let Ronan Scoffield and Connor Cook run wild. Scoffield scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Cook scored a run while going 3-for-3. Scoffield is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Hayden Heckenkamp also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Mercer Island beat Hazen 5-2 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Islanders.
Chase Koehler looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Mercer Island saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Williamson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4. Those two runs gave Williamson a new career-high. Another was Cody Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Juanita's record now sits at 3-4. As for Mercer Island, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-4-1.
Mercer Island's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Juanita has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. It's a different story for Mercer Island, though, as they've only averaged .348. Will they be able to contain Juanita's hitters?
Juanita might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Mercer Island when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can Juanita avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
