Basketball Recap: Crystal City Piles Up the Points Against Northwest

A well-balanced attack led Crystal City over Northwest in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Crystal City Hornets blew the Northwest Lions out of the water with a 38-0 final score. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crystal City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maya Hankins, who posted eight points in addition to 13 rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Hankins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Bova, who earned nine points and eight boards.

Crystal City's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8. As for Northwest, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Crystal City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-22 defeat against Bismarck on the 30th. As for Northwest, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Northwest Lions challenge the Festus Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
