Baseball Recap: Casey County Rebels vs. Cumberland County Panthers
Casey County had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-10 to make it six. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cumberland County Panthers. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 14-3 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Cumberland County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.
For Cumberland County's part, Aiden Branham was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Branham has posted over his last 11 games. Finn Feuston was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Casey County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-0 defeat against Arnold on the 6th. As for Cumberland County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-2 loss against Oldham County on the 7th.
