1. Bunnell (Stratford)
2014 finish: 19-6
Head coach: Scott Szturma

Bunnell returns five starters on offense and its top two players from last year, including possibly the state's top prospect in Ron Rossomando. As a junior, Rossomando went 7-2 on the mound with a 1.60 ERA. He also batted .338 with a pair of home runs. He's joined by Brian Valeriano, who batted .388, and Justin Lasko, who batted .347 and had five wins on the mound.

2. Fairfield Prep
2014 finish: 18-5
Head coach: Rudolph Mauritz

Fairfield Prep was one of the top seeds in last year's Class LL state playoffs, but it fell in the second round to eventual champion Amity Regional. Fairfield Prep will miss pitcher Kevin Stone, who earned all-conference honors and headed to Harvard. However senior shortstop Simon Whiteman returns after earning all-conference honors as a junior.

3. Darien
2014 finish: 18-6
Head coach: Mike Scott

The Blue Wave reached the quarterfinals of the Class L state championships last year, falling to Law. Darien had its best season in over eight years in 2014, winning 18 games. The Blue Wave return two of the state's top players in shortstop Jake Frasca and catcher Anthony Dimeglio.

4. Southington
2014 finish: 22-4
Head coach: Charles Lembo

Southington reached the Class LL state championship game last season, where it fell to Amity Regional. A total of 14 lettermen are expected to return, led by the outfielder Liam Scafariello and UConn-commit catcher Zachary Susi. The Blue Knights also have one of the top-ranked juniors in the state in catcher Kyle Bunko.

5. Notre Dame (West Haven)
2014 finish: 18-4
Head coach: Lou Kessler



The Green Knights have won state titles in two of the past four seasons, including the Class L championship last year. A total of 15 lettermen return, including senior Evan Lumpinski, who is one of the top outfield prospects in the state this year.
