Softball Game Preview: Williamstown Demons vs. Carroll County Panthers

The Williamstown Demons will take on the Carroll County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Williamstown was able to grind out a solid win over Bellevue, taking the game 9-6.

Karaline Peer was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Peer was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Hailey Webb and Leslie Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Webb scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Martin scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Lausman, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Williamstown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bellevue struck out 13 times.

Meanwhile, Carroll County entered their tilt with Bellevue on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Panthers have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Carroll County's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Williamstown, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
