Basketball Recap: Wolfe City Takes a Loss

Wolfe City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bland Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-35 back in January.

Despite the loss, Wolfe City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Adams dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. What's more, Adams also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Rustic McElwrath was another key player, going 5 for 7 to rack up 15 points.

Wolfe City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-24. As for Bland, their victory bumped their record up to 18-15.

Wolfe City has already played their next game, a 61-42 win against Trenton on the 11th. As for Bland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-51 loss against Whitewright on the 11th.
