Churchill County has gone a perfect 10-0 against Dayton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Churchill County will look to defend their home field against Dayton at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Churchill County has six straight victories, Dayton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

The home team had come away the winner the last three times Churchill County and Fernley had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Churchill County came out on top in a nail-biter against Fernley on Tuesday, sneaking past 11-9. That's two games straight that the Greenwave have won by exactly two runs.

Meanwhile, Dayton faced North Valleys in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Dayton lost 9-3 to North Valleys.

Duke Evans made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Frank, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Churchill County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Dayton, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Churchill County took their win against Dayton in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3. Does Churchill County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dayton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
