Soccer Game Preview: West Iredell vs. Hickory

West Iredell is 0-9 against Hickory since March of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Red Tornadoes at 5:30 p.m.

Things were looking good for West Iredell after they put the first goals on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of North Lincoln by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty nine goals in the game before, West Iredell couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Hickory waltzed into their match on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They blew past the Tigers 4-1. Hickory might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by three goals or more this season.

Hickory pushed their record up to 13-1-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those seven games. As for West Iredell, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

West Iredell might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Hickory in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
