Basketball Recap: Window Rock Takes a Loss

Window Rock lost against Chinle on January 4th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Window Rock Fighting Scouts fell to the Chinle Wildcats 56-52. The Fighting Scouts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Window Rock lost, don't look at Jaylen Brown. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 11 on his way to 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played. Makye Gilbert was another key player, going 6 of 9 en route to 13 points and five rebounds.

Window Rock's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Chinle, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Window Rock will host Page at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Page will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Window Rock surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chinle, they will venture away from home to face off against Monument Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Monument Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Chinle likes a good challenge.
