Baseball Game Preview: La Vernia Bears vs. Somerset Bulldogs

For the second straight game, La Vernia will face off against Somerset. The Bears will square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Vernia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

La Vernia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Somerset. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Kayson Bay looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brennan Little was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Caden Fox was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Somerset has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-17 record this season. As for La Vernia, their victory bumped their record up to 20-8.
