Football Game Preview: Silverado Skyhawks vs. Rancho Rams

Silverado is on a three-game streak of home losses, Rancho a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Wednesday. The Silverado Skyhawks will host the Rancho Rams at 4:30 p.m. Neither Silverado nor Rancho posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Silverado's offense might be in the hot seat on Wednesday considering what happened against Shadow Ridge on Monday. They were outmatched by the Mustangs and fell 27-0. While losing is never fun, the Skyhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Mustangs are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Rancho fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Canyon Springs on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 12-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pioneers. While the Rams didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pioneers 6-0 in the first quarter.

Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Silverado, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.

Silverado came out on top in a nail-biter against Rancho in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, sneaking past 15-12. Does Silverado have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rancho turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
