Basketball Game Preview: Ridge Red Devil vs. Union Farmers

The Ridge Red Devil will face off against the Union Farmers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridge will be strutting in after a victory while Union will be coming in after a loss.

Union will be up against a hot Ridge team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Ridge came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-44 W against South Plainfield. Given the Red Devil's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Tigers are ranked 152nd), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Union ended up a good deal behind Woodbridge on Friday and lost 67-49. The Farmers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ridge's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points over those games. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
