Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Promyse Dent and Tai Bowler Lead Monacan to Victory

Monacan won the last time they faced Clover Hill and things went their way on Friday too. The Monacan Chiefs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Clover Hill Cavaliers 61-59. Given the Chiefs' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Monacan to victory were Tai Bowler and Promyse Dent. Bowler almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, while Dent went 7 of 13 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dekari Riley, who posted nine points.
