Baseball Recap: Mabel-Canton Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Mabel-Canton faced off against Schaeffer Academy on Thursday. The Cougars' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lions a 10-0 shutout. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kale Eiken made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Eiken was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kale Tollefsrud was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Nolan Garness was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mabel-Canton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mabel-Canton's record is now 4-7. As for Schaeffer Academy, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Mabel-Canton will take on St. Charles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Schaeffer Academy, they will face off against Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
