Basketball Recap: Meleah Bell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Neuse Christian Academy

Hilltop Christian won the last time they faced Neuse Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Hilltop Christian Chargers took down the Neuse Christian Academy Lions 40-25. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Chargers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Hilltop Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Meleah Bell, who posted four points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Bell a new career-high in assists. Natalie Meza was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 16 points.

Despite the defeat, Neuse Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lyla Lindstrom scored 12 points and seven boards. Lindstrom is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Hilltop Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Neuse Christian Academy, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Hilltop Christian has already played their next contest, a 38-30 loss against Wilson Christian Academy on the 28th. Neuse Christian Academy has also already played their next game (against Thales Academy Apex), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
