Basketball Game Preview: South Houston Trojans vs. Manvel Mavericks

The South Houston Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Manvel Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Houston will be strutting in after a win while Manvel will be coming in after a defeat.

South Houston took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Alvin 62-35. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Manvel didn't have quite enough to beat Pearland on Tuesday and fell 48-46.

South Houston's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-4. As for Manvel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

South Houston ended up a good deal behind Manvel in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, losing 63-47. Can South Houston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
