Softball Preview: Argos Dragons vs. Caston Comets

Argos is 1-7 against Caston since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Dragons will welcome the Comets at 10:00 a.m. Argos has given up an average of 15.1 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Argos lost 17-11 to Culver Academies on Thursday. Even if the Dragons couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Argos got a massive performance out of Katherine Suarez, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Overmeyer, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Culver Community hit Caston with a four-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cavaliers.

Hadlie Coffing and Kylee Logan stepped up to the plate in a big way. Coffing went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Logan went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Caston's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Argos, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.
