Basketball Recap: Jenkins County War Eagles vs. Hawkinsville Red Devils
Jenkins County and Hawkinsville squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Jenkins County had to settle for second. They lost to the Hawkinsville Red Devils on the road by a 60-46 margin. The War Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Red Devils from their previous meeting back in February of 2017.

Tyler Williams and James Allen certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Williams went 5-for-7 to rack up 18 points and six rebounds, while Allen shot 45% from the field en route to 14 points along with eight boards and five assists. Allen also grabbed three steals, which is notable because Jenkins County is 3-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 10-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Javarius Gilmore, who posted six points and 13 rebounds.
Bryson Singletary continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hawkinsville, putting up 17 points and five boards. Singletary has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamari Blackshear, who had seven points in addition to seven steals and five assists.
Jenkins County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-15. As for Hawkinsville, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-11.
