Baseball Game Preview: Fox Lane Foxes vs. Brewster Bears

The Fox Lane Foxes will take on the Brewster Bears at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fox Lane's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Brewster's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Fox Lane is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Lincoln a 21-0 shutout. The Foxes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Andrew Diaz, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Provost, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Brewster hadn't done well against Lakeland recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Bears skirted past the Hornets 5-4. The win was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Troy Vazquez was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mike Connolly, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Brewster's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Fox Lane, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.

Fox Lane skirted past Brewster 7-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2016. Will the Foxes repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
