Softball Recap: Boonton Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Boonton's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Vernon Vikings on Thursday. The Bombers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Boonton's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Vernon, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boonton will host Caldwell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.67 runs per game on average), something the Bombers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Vernon, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Hackettstown at 4:00 p.m.
