West Franklin put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Central Heights Vikings by a score of 9-6. While the Falcons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 2-9-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Maverick Moody made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Chandler Scott was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season. Chance Nickel was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

West Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

West Franklin pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Central Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Franklin will host Wabaunsee at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Central Heights, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Pleasanton at 4:30 p.m. The Vikings are facing the Blu-Jays at the right time seeing as the Blu-Jays are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
