Softball Recap: Excel Takes a Loss

Excel fell victim to Northview and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Chiefs, falling 19-0. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 10-5 to the Chiefs when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Excel dropped their record down to 12-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Northview, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Excel will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hillcrest at 4:00 p.m. on April 1. As for Northview, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-4 win against T.R. Miller on the 22nd.
