After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sacred Heart, Assumption was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds, posting a 70-41 victory. The Rockets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Ashlinn James was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 7 on her way to 12 points and six steals. James is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Moore, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points.

Assumption's record is now 12-2. As for Newport Central Catholic, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10.

Assumption will take on Anderson County at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Newport Central Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bellevue at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
