Soccer Recap: Galena Triumphs

Galena can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Pirates who were credited with the victory. The Galena Pirates got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Jefferson J-Hawks's four.

Galena's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Jefferson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coming up, Galena will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against River Valley at 4:30 p.m. River Valley will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Galena surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jefferson, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Princeton on the 26th.
