For the second straight game, University will face off against Chaparral. University will be playing at home against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. University is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

University is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Chaparral just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-2 to the Bobcats.

For Chaparral's part, Aiden Hurst made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Hurst has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rene Pagan, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Caden Morrow was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Chaparral has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. University's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
