Basketball Game Preview: Willapa Valley Vikings vs. Naselle Comets

The Willapa Valley Vikings will square off against the Naselle Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Willapa Valley came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 53-29 to Pe Ell. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.

Paislee Hurley put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted seven points along with five boards and five blocks. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Naselle, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They came out on top against Columbia Adventist Academy by a score of 53-43 on Tuesday.

Naselle pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. As for Willapa Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Willapa Valley strolled past Naselle in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 44-29. Will Willapa Valley repeat their success, or does Naselle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
