Volleyball Recap: Park Tudor Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Park Tudor duked it out with Southport on Wednesday. The Panthers lost 3-0 to the Cardinals. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2021.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-8, 25-16.

Samantha McGuinness paced Park Tudor's offense, picking up seven kills. McGuinness got some help from Lizzy Xu and her 13 assists. Katie Sellers controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Southport to victory were Lily Boone and Avery Kendrick. Boone had 12 digs and five aces, while Kendrick had ten digs. Boone is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Park Tudor and nudges their season record down to 12-10. As for Southport, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Park Tudor didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Central Christian Academy on the 7th. As for Southport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Speedway on the 2nd.
