Basketball Game Preview: Greenville H Hurricanes vs. Greater Cabarrus S Stallions

The Greenville H Hurricanes will challenge the Greater Cabarrus S Stallions at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Greenville H's tournament run continued when they took on HRK on Saturday. Greenville H fell 42-32 to HRK. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 85th in South Carolina, while the Eagles are ranked 24th in Illinois).

Despite their loss, Greenville H saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Aubrey Mathis, who posted 11 points and six boards, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance gave Mathis a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Annie Hendley, who earned six points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Greenville H smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Greater Cabarrus S also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Surry HomeSchool by a score of 46-39.

Greater Cabarrus S' defeat dropped their record down to 7-22. As for Greenville H, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.
